Aurora is a real-time generative artwork inspired by the many hues that can emerge from the simple interaction of red, green, and blue light. Starting from these three fundamental components, the work explores an evolving spectrum of colours generated through their continuous combination and transformation.
Light sources grow, overlap, mix and blend, producing an environment that is never entirely repeated. Colours emerge from one another, shift in intensity and gradually reshape the surrounding space, while reflective geometries respond to these changing conditions.
Within this constantly evolving field of light, reflections reveal fragments of an underlying structure. Its presence is never fully exposed: forms appear, disappear and become perceptible only when particular combinations of light, colour and reflection occur.
Generated in real time, Aurora exists as a continuously changing composition. Rather than following a predetermined sequence, the work unfolds through an ongoing interaction between light, colour, geometry and reflection, creating an immersive environment in which the invisible structure of the piece is progressively suggested rather than explicitly revealed.

- Lake Heckaman is an American new media artist whose practice focuses on large-scale interactive installations and generative systems that respond to the presence of people and to the environments in which they exist.
His research reflects on the role of technology within contemporary experience, responding to digital systems increasingly designed to capture and monetise human attention. In contrast, Heckaman creates environments that react to presence and return attention to the viewer, approaching technology as an instrument of connection rather than extraction.
